O neaşteptată poveste de dragoste, bazată pe o poveste adevărată, emoţionantă şi tulburătoare dintre Sreykeo, o tânără de 21 de ani din Phnom Penh şi Ben, un tânăr student neamţ venit în Cambogia pentru a-şi petrece vacanţa de vară şi pentru a se distra. Între cele două personaje, ea prostituată – el dornic de aventură, se înfiripă o legătură amoroasă necondiţionată, unde personajele sunt supuse unor mari încercări. Filmul este construit pe o platformă psihologică, regizorul Detlev Buck reuşind foarte bine să inducă publicului starea de spirit a personajelor. Un film uşor, frumos şi interesant, o poveste tulburătoare şi actori tineri foarte talentaţi.
Based on the true story of Benjamin Prufer and Sreykeo Solvan. The unexpected and uncertain love story of Sreykeo, a 21 year old bar girl in Phnom Penh and Ben, a young German student traveling to Cambodia on a post graduation summer trip. When Ben returns home to Germany he discovers that Sreyko is sick and he takes on the responsibility to save her. On the way he discovers a world where not everyone is dealt the same cards and where motivations are not always pure.
