Cand este descoperita victima unui nou asasinat care poarta amprenta lui Jigsaw, detectivul Eric Mathews (Donnie Wahlberg) incepe o investigatie atenta si il prinde pe Jigsaw fara prea mare efort. Dar pentru acesta, faptul ca s-a lasat prins, nu este decat o parte a planului sau marsav, opt dintre victimele sale luptandu-se pentru supravietuire.
